Sephiroth Profile
Sephiroth is the main antagonist of Final Fantasy VII, the RPG that single handedly revolutionized the roleplaying genre and made it popular with western audiences. And a big contribution of that comes from it's villain Sephiroth.
In it's early days Sephiroth is known as the most powerful member of Soldier working for the Shinra company and is known to a hero by many people. In his early days he fight alongside people such as Genesis, Angaal and Zack.
But in one of those missions for shinra Sephiroth learned a shocking truth and experienced a very traumatic incident. From that moment onward Sephiroth becomes maniacally evil searching for his past, first by setting the village of Nibelheim on fire, later on by manipulating Cloud(the main protagonist) and calling down Meteor to the world.
After a long and hard struggle, Cloud and his allies finally manage to defeat Sephiroth at the Northern Crater, but at the cost of what? Midgar lies in ruins due to the calling of Meteor and will never be the same again.
Sephiroth's trademark is his long Katana, named Masamune. A weapon to be feared and the weapon responsible for slaying Tseng of the Turks in the "Temple of the Ancients". Sephiroth also had cameo appearances in many spinoff games and movies such as, Final Fantasy VII : Advent Children, Final Fantasy VII : Last Order, Final Fantasy VII : Crisis Core, Final Fantasy VII : Before Crisis, Final Fantasy VII : Dirge of Cerberus and Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2.
Up until now Sephiroth remains the most popular villain in the history of roleplaying games and is an icon on messageboards and websites worldwide, even a simple google search will yield millions of results. His popularity however is often contested with Kefka from FF6, but that's a whole other discussion.
