Lavos is an extra terrestrial that came to the planet Earth in the year 65 million B.C and sleeps deep beneath the earth. He arose in the year 1999 A.D. to destroy all life on the planet. It was discovered that Lavos was the direct influence in the evolution of humans and was harvesting the DNA of all species of life on the planet to create its own children where it would leave the planet to repeat the cycle.His plans to destroy the world was foiled by Crono and his team through the use of time travel. After his defeat, Lavos was sent into the Darkness Beyond Time where he merged with Schala and became the Time Devourer, setting up the plot for Chrono Cross.
