Aribeth de Tylmarande Profile
At the start of the game, Lady Aribeth de Tylmarande is a close adviser of Lord Nasher (the ruler of Neverwinter), a paladin to the god Tyr and works to help find a cure for the Wailing Death, a terrible plague that devastes the city of Neverwinter. She is also the lover of Fenthick, and elf who is later hung and accused unrightfully of collaboration with the traitor Desther. As a result of this, Aribeth begins to question pretty much everything happening to her, her loyalty to Neverwinter, her faith in Tyr, even her and the player's quest to find out what happened and what caused the plague, she also would never forget what they did in Neverwinter to her lover Fenthick.
Ultimately, she betrays everyone and joins the force that opposes the player becoming the game's antagonist. It is later learned that dreams from the main antagonist(Morag) had driven her from her original faith onto the opposing side. Later in the game the player is presented with conversation options (regulated by the player's experiences and certain inventory items) that can, if chosen correctly, open Aribeth's eyes to the truth of what happened to her, and turn her back to the side of the protagonist. At this point Aribeth returns the player's affections and surrenders to the player's authority, submitting herself for judgement by Lord Nashar for the crimes she had committed. Or you can pick the other choice and kill her.
Aribeth makes a return in Hordes of the Underdark(the first expansion pack of NWN), and it is possible for her to become one of your Henchmen provided that you aren't at the limit of two already, and you complete a side quest. Should the player's character be male, she can, like in the original game, become a romantic interest (even though she is a spirit).
